Secretary General

In Bangladesh, the field of respiratory medicine has been well established as a subspecialty. Bangladesh Lung Foundation is the leading forum of pulmonologists with the mission to promote lung health through advancement of quality care. We endeavor to optimize the capacity of health professionals in the management of respiratory diseases. Although, we have to operate with resource limited settings, in a developing country, our members relentlessly strive to offer their knowledge and skills for satisfactory care for the millions. We constantly endeavor to harness our limited resources to optimize quality of care. Our foundation offers opportunities for networking, professional development, and collaboration with national and international partners such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR), the Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD), and the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS). Through these partnerships, we harness collective expertise and resources to tackle respiratory health challenges globally.

We regularly organize academic conferences, training workshops and mass awareness programs to enhance the knowledge of our patients and augment the healthcare of our patients and the common public. Furthermore, we have played a significant role during the COVID-19 pandemic in capacity building of healthcare professionals as a technical partner of the Director General of Health Services through USAID funded project in collaboration with the Save the Children Fund.
